Racing Club produced a comeback to make it 2-2 at Velez Sarsfield after trailing 2-0 at one point. The defending league champions are still winless in this Superliga season, accumulating two points in as many rounds. In fact, Eduardo Coudet’s men drew six of their last eight games taking into account the league and the Superliga Cup (one win, one loss). However, La Academia remains unbeaten at home in 2019, with 11 victories and five draws in domestic competitions. Racing Club centre back Alejandro Donatti is still out due to a muscle problem and Eugenio Mena also remains sidelined.
River Plate produced an excellent performance to beat Lanus 3-0 at Estadio Monumental, with striker Matias Suarez netting a brace. Therefore, Marcelo Gallardo’s men are now on four points in the Superliga table, two behind leaders. El Millonario has claimed three victories and two draws in their last six matches among all Superliga competitions, only losing at Atletico Tucuman 3-0 in May. However, Rver is winless in their last three domestic matches on the road (two draws, one defeat). River Plate centre back Javier Pinola is still out while Leonardo Ponzio will miss out. Ignacio Scocco will return to the bench after several months on the sidelines with muscle issues.
Both have important missings in defense and both have definitely enough firepower to make this a very entertaining derby, so I have to go with the OVER.
