Lanus managed a valuable point on their visit to Independiente following a 2-2 away draw after trailing 2-0 at one point. Therefore, El Granate extended their unbeaten run to four league matches (three victories and one draw) and reached 11 points in the league table. In addition, they are now six points above the relegation spots. Lanus have not lost at home this season, grabbing seven points from nine available. Lanus coach Luis Zubeldia can pick from all his regulars on Sunday.
Colon took a little breather on their relegation struggle after beating San Lorenzo (who hadn’t lost beforehand) 2-1 at home. Having broken a two-game winless run in the league (one draw, one loss), El Sabalero reached seven points in the Superliga and are now three points above the bottom three in the points average table. However, Colon is yet to grab points on away turf, having lost to Huracan and Independiente.
On Thursday Colon got a huge win 2-1 vs Atletico Mineiro in the Copa Sudamericana semifinals and they play the return leg at Brazil next Thursday so they will rotate most of their starters for this game and it looks like a perfect opportunity for Lanus to take the 3 points.
