Lanus are now level with Argentinos Juniors at the top of the league table on 25 points after beating Huracan 1-0 away last Monday. Young winger Pedro De la Vega gave them the victory with his goal in the 87th minute. El Granate won their last three league games and are unbeaten in the last ten (seven successes in that spell). Lanus are also unbeaten at home, having claimed 14 points from 18 available. Lanus captain Lautaro Acosta is available after missing several matches due to his muscle problem.
With Jesus Datolo netting a brace, Banfield managed a valuable home point following their 3-3 draw against Union Santa Fe after trailing 3-1 at one point. However, draws don’t count much for them: having not won any of their last five games (three stalemates, two defeats), El Taladro are still threatened by relegation after collecting only ten points this term. Banfield managed a single away win so far, registering three draws and two losses. Banfield winger Nicolas Bertolo is still out due to his muscle issues.
Big derby for both, Lanus is one of the leaders and they will have their best player Lautaro Acosta back, while Banfield is a relegation candidate and I can’t see anything here but a home win.
