Aston Villa vs Liverpool
I am betting Liverpool here today and over 2.5 goas scored here today, they are a side who have underperformed a lot this season but I think they are value against this Villa team today who are missing their world cup winning goalkeeper. Liverpool’s away form has not been good so far this season but they did score 2 goals at the Etihad mid-week in the league cup in a 3-2 defeat to Man City. Liverpool has a brilliant record at Villa Park winning 7 of their last 8 games there and while there is no doubt this will be more difficult today I believe they have the personal to win today. The majority of Liverpool’s players should be fairly well recovered at this stage, Van Dijk, Alexander Arnold, Henderson, and Alison all going out at the quarter final stage and Nunez going out at the Group stage not to mention star man Salah not even playing in the World cup so I don’t believe Liverpool’s main players have any excuse for not performing. Liverpool should be able to push against a Villa side who i thought had elements of luck go their way in some of their games prior to the world cup while already mention Villa’s Argentine Goalkeeper Martinez is out of this game having been given further time off after the world cup victory and he is a considerable loss as I believe there is a significant drop to their number 2 Olsen who will play today. Villa’s last 6 games have all gone over 2.5 goals and I can see this one going the same way in a high scoring Liverpool win.
