Velez Sarsfield still can’t relax when it comes to relegation after losing 2-1 away to Racing Club last Sunday. The team played a decent game, but they couldn’t secure points on their visit to one of the best home sides in the league.
Rosario Central’s three-game winning streak at their own stadium came to an abrupt halt when they lost 2-1 to Godoy Cruz last time out in their worst performance since boss Leonardo Fernandez’s arrival in late November. Central also saw their four-match unbeaten run ended and with a tally of 24 points they are still out of the continental spots.

11 of those points have arrived on away turf, with two victories, five draws and two losses. Rosario Central centre back Fernando Tobio saw a red card against Godoy Cruz last weekend and is suspended.
Nestor Ortigoza succumbed to a muscle injury shortly before the game and will miss out here, as is the case with Maximiliano Lovera, who missed the last match with similar issues and also their best striker, Marco Ruben, who is injured again.
Even if Velez is not the most reliable team, they’ve shown improvement under coach Gabriel Heinze and they are hosting a rival with too many missings.
