Union Santa Fe was able to beat Tigre 2-1 last Monday thanks to goals from Nicolas Mazzola and Mauro Pitton. That means they would reach the quarter-finals even losing 1-0 at home. El Tatengue has won two of their last three competitive games, losing to third-tier side Barracas Central in that time.
Tigre will need to score at least twice at Union Santa Fe following their 2-1 home defeat last time out. That result stopped El Matador’s seven-game unbeaten streak of four victories and three draws since late February (3-0 to third-tier side Estudiantes Buenos Aires in the Copa Argentina). Tigre hasn’t lost any of their last five away matches, with four wins and one draw in that spell. Tigre centre back Nestor Moiraghi is suspended after seeing a red card in the first leg against Union Santa Fe, but Gerardo Alcoba has overcome his muscle problem and will be able to take his spot.
As usual, when Tigre is playing you can expect goals, and it shouldn’t be any different here considering they need to score at least two goals to advance.
