Talleres are now on three consecutive defeats in all competitions and have lost four of their last five games (only beating fourth-tier side Deportivo Laferrere in the process) following a 2-0 away loss at San Martin SJ, who had also beaten them a week before. The team haven’t won over top-flight opponents by three goals (which they need here to advance) since October, 3-0 over arch-rivals Belgrano.
San Martin SJ had reasons to enjoy last time out when beating Talleres 2-0 at home right after their relegation to the second tier. That means El Verdinegro are unbeaten in their last four matches in all competitions, having won three and drawn one of them. However, San Martin SJ is finding trouble on away turf as they haven’t won on the road since November (2-0 at Gimnasia LP), with three draws and four losses in that span.
Another game where the hosts have to go all in to avoid a humiliating elimination against a relegated team, All of the last 6 Talleres games had at least 2 goals and I expect that here since they have no choice but to win.
