Banfield’s unbeaten run in the Superliga has been extended to eight matches (four victories and four draws) last weekend when the side won 1-0 at Colon thanks to a goal from Reinaldo Lenis in the second half. While leaving behind their relegation threats, El Taladro is now on 24 points, four below the last Copa Sudamericana berth. However, only nine of those points were claimed at home in as many matches.
Rosario Central have been displaced from the Copa Libertadores spot after their worst performance in several months. The team were thrashed at Independiente via a 5-0 scoreline, which stopped their six-game unbeaten run of five successes and one draw in the Superliga. El Canalla has however performed a remarkable campaign, accumulating 29 points. On the road, Central was irregular this term, following two victories, five draws and two losses.
Banfield has been solid lately but they will have missings in defense, while Rosario Central comes from an awful 0-5 where they showed a terrible backline, so I’m going here with goals in this low totals line.
