Huracan vs River Plate
Huracan produced a remarkable campaign last season, sitting in fourth with 48 points, which will allow them to return to the Copa Libertadores next year. El Globo finished the season with 12 league games unbeaten, including six at home. A week ago, Gustavo Alfaro’s men were beaten by Atletico Tucuman 2-0 in the Copa Argentina’s round-of-32.
River Plate managed to climb into eighth spot of the Superliga table thanks to an impressive 17-game unbeaten run in all competitions before the World Cup break and also secured 13 points from the last 15 available on their league travels. In the last weeks, River reached the Copa Argentina round-of-16 by beating Central Norte (fourth level) and Villa Dalmine (B Nacional) 7-0 and 3-1 respectively. They visited Racing Club on Thursday in the first leg of the Copa Libertadores’ round-of-16 and drew 0-0.
River Plate is tough to beat at the moment, they are undefeated in 19 consecutive games and they should have enough to beat this Huracan that has a few new players but still lacks a good scorer.
