Tigre continues to advance in the Superliga Cup. Last Tuesday, Matias Perez Acuna’s goal in the 89th minute allowed them to make it 3-2 on aggregate over league champions Racing Club in spite of losing 2-1 away. They had claimed two wins in a row prior to that defeat. El Matador succumbed to a single home defeat in 2019, having booked three wins and four draws so far.
Atletico Tucuman suffered a heavy blow last Tuesday when they were thrashed 4-1 at River Plate. However, Javier Toledo’s strike was enough to take advantage of the away goals rule following a 4-4 aggregate result. That loss has however stopped a two-game winning streak in this competition. El Decano is finding trouble in their travels, having lost their last four away games consecutively.
Tigre’s superb form continues and despite missing a couple of starters for this game due to injuries. They just eliminated league champions Racing, and I think odds on them to win this 1st leg are too high.
