River Plate has now a mountain to climb if they want to advance to the Superliga Cup semi-finals following a devastating 3-0 away defeat at Atletico Tucuman last Saturday. That loss stopped their six-match unbeaten run in all competitions, which included four victories and two draws. At home, they booked six victories (two of them 3-0), two draws and a single defeat in their last nine matches.
Atletico Tucuman played enjoyable football last weekend when beating River Plate 3-0 at home thanks to goals from Javier Toledo (two) and David Barbosa, and they would advance to next round even losing by two goals at Estadio Monumental.
