Atletico Tucuman vs Racing Club
Atletico Tucuman is living two different realities. While they are involved in the Copa Libertadores’ round-of-16 (having won 2-0 against Atletico Nacional from Colombia at home in the first leg on Thursday), they are seriously threatened by relegation when it comes to the league, leading Belgrano and San Martin SJ just by three points in the respective table. Atletico finished in 15th in the Superliga table and winless in the last four league games (also having not won any of the last six at home). However, they reached the Copa Argentina’s round-of-16 lately after beating Tristan Suarez from third level and Huracan, 1-0 and 2-0 respectively.
Racing Club had to settle for the seventh spot of the last Superliga table, which was not enough to qualify for the next Copa Libertadores and lost their last three competitive games before the World Cup. However, La Academia is on two consecutive league wins on the road (over Rosario Central and Estudiantes). On Thursday, Eduardo Coudet’s men returned to official action with a 0-0 draw against River Plate in the first leg of the Copa Libertadores’ round-of-16.
It’s hard to predict how these two squads will react a few days after a knockout-stage game, but Racing is missing some people in defense (Donatti and Soto) and will still have their attacking power of Lisandro Lopez, Centurion and Gustavo Bou, so I can expect goals here.
