Argentine Primera Division: River Plate vs Argentinos Jrs Odds for August 25, 2018

River Plate vs Argentinos Juniors

River Plate wasn’t able to convert one of their several goalscoring opportunities and had to settle for a 0-0 home draw with Belgrano last Saturday. It was their third consecutive scoreless draw across all competitions. However, they are now unbeaten in the last 22 competitive games, with 14 wins and eight draws. Even though the last result is bad news for River, they remain unbeaten at home in 2018, having registered six successes and five draws between the Superliga and the Copa Libertadores.

Argentinos Juniors also is yet to score this term following a scoreless home draw against Godoy Cruz. El Bicho earned their first point in this league season. That result also means Alfredo Berti’s men are on five winless games in the Superliga, going back to the last term, with three draws and two defeats. Argentinos grabbed just two points in their last four league travels since beating Gimnasia LP in March.

Next Wednesday River has a game at home vs Racing for the 2nd leg of Copa Libertadores Round of 16 (0-0 the 1st leg) and they already know they won’t have captain Leonardo Ponzio (suspended) and top scorer Ignacio Scocco (injured), so even though they will probably use some regulars in this game, I can’t imagine that they will have 100% their minds on it.

The handicap looks too big and Argentinos Jrs looks worth a bet.
