Patronato vs Racing

Patronato has slid into drop zone following their 1-0 away defeat at fellow relegation candidates San Martin SJ last Sunday. Juan Pablo Pumpido’s men remain on a single point without even scoring. They managed a single win in the last eight league matches, with four draws and three losses, going back to the last term. At home, Patronato is winless in the last four, drawing three of them.

Meanwhile, Racing Club broke a five-game winless run in all competitions by beating Velez Sarsfield 2-0 at home last time out. Thanks to goals from Lisandro Lopez and Guillermo Fernandez, La Academia is now on four points. Racing suffered a single loss in their last six league fixtures, with four wins in that stretch.

Even though Racing is obviously the better team, they play next Wednesday vs River the return leg of Copa Libertadores Round of 16 (the first leg at home was 0-0) and because of this, they will rest some of their most important players so it’s a perfect situation for Patronato to grab some very needed points.
