Patronato vs Atletico Tucuman

Last Sunday, Patronato have stopped a five-game winless streak of three draws and two losses by beating River Plate 3-1 away from home. Striker Gabriel Avalos scored a hat-trick in his debut at the club after arriving from Godoy Cruz. El Patron is now on 13 points in the league table and, even though they haven’t yet left the relegation zone, that victory allowed them to leapfrog Belgrano in the respective table. However, they are 25th in home standings with only nine points in eight matches at Presbitero Grella Stadium.

Atletico Tucuman opened the new year with a remarkable 4-1 home win over Gimnasia LP to make it four victories in the last five league matches, along with their home defeat in the derby against San Martin in December. El Decano continues to perform an excellent campaign, sitting in third on 31 points with one league game in hand. They also won their last two games on away turf at San Lorenzo and Belgrano.

Atletico Tucuman showed last week that they don’t miss their idol Luis Rodriguez (he signed for Colon) that much, and tonight they will visit the worst defense in the league, whose last two home games finished 3-3, so I also expect goals here.
