Lanus vs Colon

Lanus extended their unbeaten run to five matches (with three successes and two draws) last weekend when beating Godoy Cruz 2-0 away. In a boring game, El Granate were effective up front to take all three points and reach 18 in the Superliga, which is still a poor campaign for them in general terms. However, Lanus won three of the last four games on their own turf, only losing to Huracan in that stretch.

Colon new boss Julio Comesana couldn’t have had a better debut: his men beat Argentinos Juniors 2-0 at home to stop a six-match winless run of four draws and two losses, with star signing Luis Rodriguez netting the opener. El Sabalero has climbed into 15th spot on 19 points, four behind arch-rivals Union Santa Fe (who occupy the last Copa Sudamericana berth). However, Colon is the worst travellers in the league so far, having booked three stalemates and five defeats.

Lanus are making great improvements and Colon are weak on the road but their attack looks improved so I’m going here with goals in this match.
