Belgrano vs Banfield

Belgrano’s winless run has been extended to five matches (two draws and three consecutive losses) as they were defeated at Talleres 3-0 in Cordoba derby, which also resulted in coach Lucas Bernardi’s dismissal. With just seven points in the league table, El Pirata has slid into the relegation zone, one point behind San Martin SJ who have a game in hand. At home, Belgrano managed five points in four matches.

Meanwhile, Banfield is starting to improve. Two weeks ago, they made it three league games without defeat (one win, two draws) by beating San Lorenzo 2-0 at home thanks to goals from Jesus Datolo and Dario Cvitanich. That victory allowed El Taladro to climb into last Copa Sudamericana berth on 12 points. However, the team are yet to win on the road, having booked two draws and two losses.

Banfield seem the better side at the moment while Belgrano’s mood has to be terrible after that big defeat in the derby.
