Banfield vs San Lorenzo
Banfield is on three winless games in the Superliga (two draws, one defeat) following a 1-1 away stalemate at San Martin Tucuman last Sunday. They saved a valuable point thanks to Adrian Calello’s goal with only three minutes to go. El Taladro is producing an irregular campaign so far, with nine points in the 12th spot of the table. However, seven of those points were claimed at home as Banfield are still unbeaten, with two successes and a draw.
San Lorenzo’s home game against Atletico Tucuman in round seven was suspended due to heavy rain. The team had beaten Patronato 3-2 at home in their last league outing, which was their first Superliga win this season (with the other games ending in four draws and one defeat). After that match, San Lorenzo lost at Nacional from Uruguay 2-0 and were knocked out of the Copa Sudamericana. Last Wednesday, they also played against Estudiantes in the Copa Argentina, winning3-1 and advanced to the quarter-finals. El Ciclon grabbed two points from nine available on the road in the league.
San Lorenzo’s defense has been far from reliable so far this season conceding in almost every game they played so I have to go with goals here.
