Banfield vs Patronato
Banfield is on six Superliga games without a win on the road (four draws, two losses) following their 1-1 stalemate at Velez Sarsfield last Sunday, when they conceded with just a single minute to go. El Taladro is now on four points in the Superliga, having beaten Gimnasia LP at home in week two. In fact, El Taladro claimed ten points from the last 12 available in the league at their stadium. Their last defeat dates back to March when they were beaten by Union Santa Fe 2-0.
Patronato made it five winless home matches (three draws, two defeats) after suffering a heavy blow last weekend when they lost to Racing Club 3-0. Having not won nor scored this term, Juan Pablo Pumpido’s men earned a single point in three weeks and remain sitting in a drop spot, three points behind Belgrano and San Martin SJ, who would meet each other in a playoff if it was the end of the season. To make things worse, Patronato lost four of their last seven away matches, claiming two draws and a single victory (over relegated side Temperley in the penultimate round of last season).
Banfield is irregular at the moment and they won’t have a good player like Nicolas Bertolo, but Patronato has been terrible so far this season. Home win.
