Sportivo Luqueno drew 2-2 with Mineros from Venezuela at home after trailing 2-0 to make it 5-4 on aggregate and reach this second round. Last Saturday, the team beat River Plate 2-0 at home to stop a two-game winless run (one draw and one defeat) and earn their first three points in two rounds in the Paraguayan Torneo Clausura. Luqueno has been unbeaten in the last six home matches having won four and drawn two since losing to Cerro Porteno 1-0 in August. They will host this game at Sol de America.
Defensa y Justicia failed to qualify for the Copa Libertadores’ round-of-16 after losing their last two games (2-1 at Santos last week). Having finished in the third spot in Group G, they will continue in this competition. Overall, El Halcon has not won any of their last four away games in all competitions, drawing one and losing the last three since beating Estudiantes 2-1 in February.
Sportivo Luqueno have a renewed squad in comparison with their last Copa Sudamericana game against Mineros in February, Defensa y Justicia had a good run in Copa Libertadores and was unlucky to get eliminated, they seem the better side in general terms and I like their chances of getting a good result here.
