Sao Paulo have a mountain to climb if they want to advance to the 2022 Copa Sudamericana finals (the team lefted this title in 2012). On Sunday, the team drew 1-1 away at Cuiabe EC. Following that result, they are now out of the Copa Sudamericana spots in the Brazilian league table: they are sitting into the 14th place on 30 points after 25 rounds. Meanwhile, Atletico Goianiense are close to securing their ticket to the Copa Sudamericana final for the first time in history thanks to their 3-1 home success over Sao Paulo last Wednesday. However, it was their only success across the last six competitive matches (along with two draws and three losses) considering O Dragao lost 2-0 (also at home) to Atletico Mineiro last Sunday. Eduardo Baptista’s men continue occupying one of the relegation spots in the Brasileirao table, with 22 points in 25 games and four behind the last safe place. On the road, Goianiense are on three matches without a win, drawing one and losing two.

Sao Paulo needs to win by at least two goals to have a chance at reverting this series, so I definitely expect an open game with them attacking from the 1st minute.
