Copa Sudamericana: San Lorenzo (Argentina) vs Sao Paulo (Brazil) Odds for August 03, 2023

San Lorenzo (Argentina) vs Sao Paulo (Brazil)

Thanks to a brace from striker Adam Bareiro, San Lorenzo beat Colombian side Independiente Medellin 2-0 at home in the return leg of the Copa Sudamericana playoff to make it 3-0 on aggregate. Last Saturday, coach Ruben Insua fielded a completely alternative XI that lost to Tigre 2-0 away. However, San Lorenzo ended up in third spot of the Liga Profesional table on 46 points. El Ciclon are on three matches without a regular-time victory in all competitions, drawing two and losing one. San Lorenzo lost their last home match (2-0 to Argentinos Juniors) after a ten-match unbeaten streak of five wins and five draws at Estadio Pedro Bidegain.

Sao Paulo showed an enjoyable performance to beat Tigre 2-0 at home in the Copa Sudamericana round six and secured the top spot of the group D table on 16 points, six above their last opponents. On Saturday, O Tricolor drew 0-0 against Bahia EC at home, which dropped them down to the eighth spot of the Brazilan league table on 26 points after 17 matches. Sao Paulo are without a win in their last three games in all competitions, drawing one and losing two, and those two defeats were suffered on away turf.

San Lorenzo’s defense was the best of the argentinian league this season but they slowed down lately after losing a couple of important players, so even if I expect a tight game here, I’ll go with the OVER on this very low line.
