Lanus took a big step in their fight to advance in the Copa Sudamericana by beating Deportivo Garcilaso 2-0 away in Peru in round four thanks to goals from Walter Bou and Marcelino Moreno. El Granate are leaders in group G on ten points, two above Cuiaba EC in second. On Sunday, coach Ricardo Zielinski fielded a mostly alternative XI and his team ended up losing 2-0 to newcomers Independiente Rivadavia at home in their Liga Profesional debut. That defeat put an end to a two-match winning run and also means Lanus won only one of the last six at home (along with two draws and three losses).

Metropolitanos FC are one of the worst teams in the Copa Sudamericana at the moment.
