Copa Sudamericana: Guabira (Bolivia) vs Independiente (Argentina) Odds for April 21, 2021

Guabira (Bolivia) vs Independiente (Argentina)

After finishing in sixth place in the Bolivian league in 2020, Guabira overcame the Copa Sudamericana’s first round for the first time in history by beating Nacional Potosi 4-1 at home and 2-1 away. In fact, the return leg represented their last official game as the league is paused at the moment. Victor Hugo Andrada’s men registered two victories and two defeats across the first four rounds, but those were their only losses in their last 12 competitive matches (nine victories and one draw). Guabira lost their last home match (2-0 to Real Tomanyapo), which stopped an eight-game winning streak as the hosting side.

Independiente are looking for their third Copa Sudamericana title after qualifying in the 13rd spot of the Argentine league aggregate table in 2019/20. Last Sunday, the team managed a highly-celebrated 1-0 home success over Defensa y Justicia, which allowed them to climb into third spot in group B on 16 points. That victory also stopped a four-game winless streak of one draw and three defeats. Furthermore, El Rojo are on three consecutive defeats on the road since beating Newell’s Old Boys 2-1 in March.

Bolivian teams have only one advantage and it’s the altitude factor, but that doesn’t exist here as Guabira plays almost at sea level. Even if Independiente has been struggling lately, they should have more than enough to beat this poor bolivian side.
