Copa Sudamericana: Gremio (Brazil) vs Lanus (Argentina) Odds for May 13, 2021

Gremio (Brazil) vs Lanus (Argentina)

Gremio need only one more win to qualify for the Copa Sudamericana’s round of 16. In round three, they thrashed Venezuelan side Aragua 8-0 to make it nine points in three rounds in group H, three above second-placed Lanus. On Sunday, a rotated XI also won 2-0 at home over Caxias in the return leg of the Rio Grande do Sul State Championship semi-finals to make it 4-1 on aggregate and advance to the final against arch-rivals Internacional. Tiago Nunes’ men are on eight matches unbeaten in all competitions (one draw and seven straight victories). As hosts, they won the last four games.

Meanwhile, Lanus want to keep fighting. Last Thursday, Luis Zubeldia’s men claimed a much needed 1-0 win over La Equidad playing as the visiting side in Paraguay thanks to a goal from Lucas Vera. El Granate made it six points in group H and will need to beat Gremio to level them at the top of the table. On Sunday, Lanus won 1-0 at home over Talleres, but that wasn’t enough to qualify for the league playoffs as they ended up in fifth place in group B. Lanus won two of their last three away games in all competitions, losing to Boca Juniors in that stretch.

Lanus has been very poor lately and they will have some missings in midfield, so I expect Gremio to continue their perfect run.
