Cruzeiro (Brazil) – Libertad (Paraguay)

Cruzeiro EC are close to securing their ticket to the Copa Sudamericana semi-finals thanks to their 2-0 away success over Libertad at Estadio Defensores del Chaco. On Sunday, A Raposa drew 0-0 away at Cuiaba EC to stay into seventh spot of the Brasileirao table on 42 points. Fernando Diniz’s men succumbed to a single defeat across their last five in all competitions, winning two and drawing two. At home, Cruzeiro lost their last game (1-0 to Sao Paulo FC) after four games unbeaten (two victories and two stalemates).

Meanwhile, Libertad have a mountain to climb in order to reach the top four after losing 2-0 to Cruzeiro EC as the hosting side last week. On Sunday, El Gumarelo beat Club Tacuary 1-0 at home to occupy fourth spot in the Paraguayan Torneo Clausura on 19 points after 12 rounds, six behind leaders Olimpia. The side won four of the last five in all competitions, losing only once in that time. Libertad are unbeaten in five as the visiting side, with two victories and three stalemates in regular time.

Cruzeiro had an easy win in the 1st leg at Paraguay, and I expect them to finish strong here against a Libertad that will have to take risks since the 1st minute.
