Argentinos Juniors run out of chances of advancing in the Copa Sudamericana following their 4-0 away defeat to SC Corinthians. Pablo Guede’s men are now third-placed in group F on six points after five rounds, four behind their last opponents. On Saturday, El Bicho secured a massive 1-0 home success over River Plate to make it six points in three Liga Profesional games and also stopped a two-match losing streak in all competitions. Argentinos are unbeaten in their last four at Estadio Diego Armando Maradona, winning three and drawing one in that spell.

Meanwhile, Nacional (Asuncion) are one of the worst teams in the Copa Sudamericana and will finish bottom-placed in group F after accumulating a single point in five games so far (they lost 2-1 away to Racing -Uruguay- in week five). On Saturday, La Academia beat Sol de America 3-0 as the hosting side to make it 19 points in 20 matches in the Torneo Apertura. Nacional won three and lost two of their last five in all competitions while they claimed a single victory across their last four on away turf, along with three defeats.

Nothing to play for either team as they are both eliminated and expected to use reserves lineups here, but I expect Argentinos to get an easy win to at least finish the tournament with a smile. Their morale is high after beating River last weekend, and they will face this Nacional that was one of the worst teams in the competition getting just 1 point in 5 games.
