Copa Libertadores: River (Argentina) – Nacional (Uruguay) Odds for April 11, 2024

River (Argentina) – Nacional (Uruguay)

River Plate haven’t found any difficulties in their Copa Libertadores debut last week, when beating Deportivo Tachira from Venezuela 2-0 away thanks to goals from Sebastian Boselli and Nicolas Fonseca. In fact, Martin Demichelis’ men made it two victories in a row in all competitions on Sunday, when they won 2-1 at home over Rosario Central to keep their hope alive in the Copa Liga Profesional: El Millonario are now third-placed in group A on 24 points, two above the first non-playoff spot. At home, River have been unbeaten in their last eight matches, winning eight and drawing eight in that spell.

Meanwhile, Nacional also experienced a promising debut: they showed an enjoyable performance to beat Paraguayan outfit Libertad 2-0 at home with Leandro Lozano and Ruben Bentancourt scoring. On Saturday, Alvaro Recoba’s men also beat Cerro Largo 1-0 as the hosting side to stay fourth-placed in the Uruguayan Torneo Apertura table with 13 points in seven matches, trailing leaders Penarol by six so far. El Bolso are without defeat in their last six competitive matches (three victories and three draws).

Despite the good results, River hasn’t been playing well at all lately. Their fans are not happy at all with the way they are playing and coach Demichelis seems lost sometimes with the lineups he uses and changes from game to game. They can’t win forever playing like this, and this spread is good enough in my opinion for Nacional to cover.
