Copa Libertadores: Rentistas (Uruguay) vs Racing Club (Argentina) Odds for April 21, 2021

Rentistas (Uruguay) vs Racing Club (Argentina)

Rentistas will make their debut in the Copa Libertadores as Uruguayan league runners-up (having lost to Nacional 4-0 on aggregate in the championship final, for which they qualified after winning the Torneo Apertura). However, they produced a poor campaign in the Torneo Clausura and were close to getting relegated. In fact, El Bicho wn only one of their last 13 competitive matches in regular time, drawing three and losing nine. Rentistas also lost five of their last six home games, just beating Danubio in the process. They will host Wednesday’s game at Estadio Centenario.

Racing Club will fight for their second Libertadores’ title after finishing in third place in the 19/20 Argentine league season. Last Sunday, the side lost 2-1 at bottom-placed Sarandi Arsenal with a rotated XI, which displaced them from the playoff spots in group A: La Academia remain on 15 points, trailing fourth-placed San Lorenzo by goals scored. Juan Antonio Pizzi’s men won only one of their last five games in regular time, drawing two and losing two. On away turf, Racing claimed a single regulation victory in their last 13, along with five draws and seven defeats.

Racing has really struggled lately and there are strong rumors that their coach will be fired soon, so even if they have more quality than the hosts, I can’t see them as big favorites.
