Racing Club is practically the same squad as last semester. Matias Zaracho is infected with Covid-19 and will miss out while Ivan Pillud will be assessed until the last minute to see if he recovers from the virus. Marcelo Diaz is ruled out with muscle issues.
Racing Club claimed back-to-back victories in the Copa Libertadores after beating Peru’s Alianza Lima 1-0 at home. Therefore, they are leading Group F alongside Nacional on six points. With Argentine football yet to return, Sebastian Beccacece’s team couldn’t play since March 15th, when they won at Aldosivi 4-3.
Nacional is also perfect in the Copa Libertadores so far thanks to their 1-0 home success over Venezuelan side Estudiantes de Merida in week two. Gustavo Munua’s men are now unbeaten in their last 13 games in all competitions (eight successes and five draws), with the last nine of those having taken place since the Uruguayan league restart in August. Last Sunday, Nacional beat Danubio 2-0 at home to remain in the second spot of the Torneo Apertura table on 23 points, one behind leaders Rentistas. On away turf, they won three and drew three of the last six in all tournaments.
In a clash between two strong sides, Racing Club is confident at home, but Nacional is in better shape after playing nine competitive games during the last weeks so I think they should be able to get at least a draw here against a team that hasn’t played any football in 6 months.
