Copa Libertadores: Nacional vs Racing Odds – Sept 30, 2020

Nacional is the first team who have clinched their ticket to the Copa Libertadores’ round-of-16 following their 3-1 away success at Estudiantes de Merida last week. The side is on 12 points in four rounds and will secure the first spot if they win here. The team’s away game at Liverpool, originally scheduled for last Saturday, has been postponed after Felipe Gedoz’s infection for Covid-19. Nacional is second-placed in the Uruguayan league table, two points behind leaders with one game in hand. They are on 15 matches unbeaten in all competitions (ten wins, five draws). At home, El Bolso hasn’t lost any of the last 11, with eight successes in that span.

Racing Club needs a single point to qualify for next round thanks to their 2-0 away win at Alianza Lima last Wednesday. With nine points in four games in this competition, they are six points ahead of third-placed Estudiantes de Merida in Group F. La Academia lost only one game in 2020, having registered seven victories and four draws so far. Away from home, they haven’t suffered any defeats this year, having won the last five matches and drawn the previous two.

Two teams in good shape will clash on Wednesday but Racing will be much weaker in attack without club legend Lisandro Lopez and veteran striker Dario Cvitanich and they also will secure a place in the next round with only a draw, so I definitely expect the hosts who have a perfect record in this competition so far, to get at least a point.
