Despite a very irregular campaign in this competition, Libertad’s chances of advancing to the next round are pretty much alive as they are tied in the 2nd place of the group with Caracas on 7 points and with the same goal difference of -1.
But the Paraguayan side will face a completely eliminated Independiente Medellin, who is in a terrible crisis after losing all their best players early this year, while Caracas has to go to Argentina to face one of the South-American giants, Boca Juniors.
It’s win or die for Libertad and considering they’ve looked improved lately (2 wins, 2 draws in the last 4 that includes a trip to Argentina where they got a 0-0 draw vs Boca) they should be able to beat this very poor Independiente Medellin that should be focused on recovering in their local league where they have only one win in the last 7 games.
