Copa Libertadores: LDU Quito (Ecuador) – Lanus (Argentina) Odds for May 20, 2026

LDU Quito (Ecuador) – Lanus (Argentina)

LDU Quito took a major step backward in their battle to reach the Copa Libertadores round of 16 on Matchday 4, suffering a surprising 2–0 defeat away to debutants Mirassol FC. As a result, they dropped to third place in Group G with six points (behind Lanús on tiebreakers) and still have work to do if they want to stay alive in the competition. On Friday, Tiago Nunes’ side defeated Técnico Universitario 2–1 at home to reach 23 points in 14 rounds in the Ecuadorian LigaPro and become one of the closest challengers to leaders Independiente del Valle (34). Liga have won three and lost one of their last four matches across all competitions, while also extending their home unbeaten run to four matches (three wins and one draw).

Lanús also stumbled in their latest Copa Libertadores matchday, being dominated from start to finish in a 4–0 defeat at the altitude of El Alto against Always Ready. As a result, they remain second in Group G with six points, ahead of their next opponent only on tiebreakers (and a win here will confirm their qualification for the round of 16). A few days later, Mauricio Pellegrino’s side were eliminated from the Argentine Torneo Apertura round of 16 after a 2–0 away defeat to Argentinos Juniors. Lanús are now on a three-match winless run across all competitions (one draw and two defeats) and have lost five consecutive away matches (since defeating Estudiantes 1–0 on March 13).

Lanus are in terrible form, especially when playing away and should struggle in the altitude of Quito which is always a factor that helps the hosts.
