Fluminense (Brazil) – Internacional (Brazil)
Fluminense haven’t found any difficulties to reach the Copa Libertadores’ semi-finals after beating Paraguay’s Olimpia 3-1 away (5-1 on aggregate). On Wednesday, the team also beat Cruzeiro 1-0 at home to climb into fifth spot of the Brazilian league table on 41 points. O Tricolor succumbed to a single defeat across their last seven matches in all competitions, winning five and drawing one in that spell. Furthermore, Fluminense hold an impressive 25-match unbeaten streak as the hosting side, with 20 victories and five stalemates in that stretch.
Meanwhile, SC Internacional also found it easy to beat Bolivar from Bolivia in the quarter-finals, winning 2-0 at home to make it 3-0 on aggregate. Last Thursday, the side succumbed to a 2-1 away defeat at Athletico Paranaense, which displaced them from the continental spots in the Brazilian league table: they are now sitting in 13th on 29 points. In fact, that loss put an end to their five-match unbeaten streak of three victories and two draws. On away turf, Inter have been winless in the last three, taking just two points from nine on offer in that spell.
Big matchup between the two teams that in my opinion are the biggest candidates to win this competition, and I expect this to be an open game with at least a couple of goals as they are both good attacking teams, especially Fluminense who have in German Cano the top scorer of this competition.
