Once again we have a meeting between two teams in a completely different form: while football in Venezuela has been postponed since March, in Peru they’ve been playing for weeks and even though Alianza is not in the best form, they’ve lost only once in 5 games since the league resumed.
Financial situation in Venezuela has been terminal for years so not much is expected from teams of this country and 6 months without even playing a friendly game has to be a huge problem for the hosts. To make things even worse, their Argentinean coach is on his home country and can’t travel, so he’s been training the team by video calls and he said that he would coach this game via WhatsApp (!!) but also his assistant in Venezuela is infected with COVID so it’s unknown who will be on the bench leading the team.
Alianza should be able to take at least a draw from here and they definitely can’t lose if they want to advance.
