Copa Libertadores: Colo Colo (Chile) vs Boca (Argentina) Odds for May 03, 2023

Colo Colo (Chile) vs Boca (Argentina)

A controversial penalty netted by Carlos Palacios in the first half allowed Colo Colo to claim a much-needed 1-0 home success over Monagas SC from Venezuela in week two. Following that victory, El Cacique are now on four points from six on offer, sharing the group F leadership with Boca Juniors. Last Friday, Gustavo Quinteros’ men settled for a scoreless away draw at Union La Calera, which places them in fifth spot of the Chilean league table, accumulating 19 points in 12 matches. Colo Colo are on seven matches unbeaten in all competitions, having won four and drawn three. At home, they collected ten points from the last 12 on offer in official action.

Boca Juniors also celebrated a necessary win in their last Libertadores’ game: they reversed the score to beat Deportivo Pereira from Colombia 2-1 at home after trailing until the 88th minute. As a result, El Xeneize also made it four points in group F action. Last Saturday, Jorge Almiron’s men also won 3-1 at home over Racing Club to take a little breather in the league: the team climbed into 13th spot of the Liga Profesional table on 18 points. In fact, Boca are on three games unbeaten in all competitions, but they haven’t won any of the last three on away turf (two draws and one defeat).

Boca looked a bit improved and more confident in the last couple of games, I’m not going to trust them yet but since they’ve been conceding a lot of goals lately and they are usually strong and can score, I’ll go for the over with this short line.
