Cobresal vs Talleres
CD Cobresal put up a good fight on their visit to Sao Paulo in week two, but they ended up losing 2-0 after conceding twice in the last ten minutes of the game. As a result, El Minero are now bottom in group B, having grabbed a single point from six on offer so far and trailing their last opponents (in second) by two. On Saturday Gustavo Huerta’s men drew 2-2 against CD Nublense at home, which places them bottom in the Chilean league table with six points in nine rounds (alongside Deportes Copiapo and Union La Calera). Cobresal won only one of their last 12 competitive matches, drawing four and losing seven. At home, they registered one victory, three stalemates and two defeats in 2024.
Meanwhile, Talleres secured a massive point on their visit to Barcelona SC, drawing 2-2 away thanks to Juan Rodriguez’s goal in the sixth minute of stoppage time. A few days later, La T also drew 2-2 at Independiente, a result that left them without any chances to advance to the Copa Liga Profesional playoffs: they finished in fifth spot of the group A table on 24 points, one behind Velez Sarsfield. However, Walter Ribonetto’s men are on 11 competitive matches unbeaten (five victories and six draws). Talleres won two, drew five and lost one on the road in 2024.
Talleres wants to continue at the top of the group and for that they need a win. They’ve been quite solid lately, and should be able to beat the last placed team of the chilean league.
