Copa Libertadores: Aucas (Ecuador) – Racing (Argentina) Odds for May 23, 2023

Aucas (Ecuador) – Racing (Argentina)

SD Aucas wasted a big chance in week three, when they couldn’t hold onto their 1-0 lead and ended up succumbing to a heartbreaking 2-1 away defeat at CD Nublense. As a result, the team are third-placed in group A on three points, trailing Flamengo (in second spot) by one. On Saturday, they settled for a scoreless away draw at Mushuc Runa, which means Cesar Farias’ men are still sitting in third spot of the Ecuadorian league table on 21 points in 11 rounds, seven behind leaders Independiente del Valle. Aucas won only one of their last four competitive games, drawing one and losing two in that spell, but they also are on six consecutive victories as the hosting side.

Racing Club secured a massive home point against Flamengo following a 1-1 stalemate after conceding first and seeing a red card. That result allowed them to stay as group A leaders on seven points, four above third-placed SD Aucas. La Academia had their league game (against Velez Sarsfield at home) postponed last weekend, dropping down to the 22nd spot of the Liga Profesional on 18 points. In fact, Fernando Gago’s men are on five winless matches in all competitions, drawing one and losing four since beating Aucas 3-2 at home. Racing took a single point across their last four away games.

Racing has been just awful lately and again they won’t have midfielders Matias Rojas and Anibal Moreno due to injury so they should struggle here again.
