Peru impressed many observers in the world cup last year and was considered a little unlucky in what was a tough group. They should never have lost to Denmark and were only beaten 1-0 by eventual winners France before going on and beating Australia 2-0. Venezuela is a side many thinks will improve, they were runners up in the Under 20 world cup but not many of these players are in this squad and have a key man in Rondon of Newcastle playing as a striker but apart from Torino midfielder Rincon and Espanyol full-back Rosales they do not have as good as a squad as Peru, Martinez, who plays in the MSL, is a very useful player but he was only on the bench in the warm-up games so unlikely we will see both him and Rondon on the pitch at the same time unless they are chasing a game. For me, I was impressed with Peru at the world cup and I think they are worth supporting here again tonight.
