Argentine Super League: River Plate vs Aldosivi Odds for May 9, 2021

River Plate vs Aldosivi

River Plate put their playoff ticket in jeopardy last Sunday, when they showed a poor version and ended up losing 1-0 at Banfield. It was their second consecutive loss in the Copa Liga Profesional. Marcelo Gallardo’s men made it 18 points and hold a big goal difference. Therefore, after Banfield’s win at Godoy Cruz on Saturday, they will advance to the playoffs only in the event of beating Aldosivi at home.
On Thursday 6, River drew 0-0 against Independiente Santa Fe from Colombia as the visiting side in Paraguay in a Copa Libertadores group game. Striker Matias Suarez is expected to feature on the bench after self-isolation.

Aldosivi returned to their usual standards last Sunday, when they played a poor game and succumbed to a 3-1 home defeat to Argentinos Juniors despite having taken the first lead. The team lost four of their last six league games, along with one win and one draw in that spell. As a result, they accumulated only 11 points this term, which means they are only leading Patronato in the points average table (level with three more squads).

River must win to advance to the playoffs and even though they haven’t been really themselves lately, I can’t imagine them not getting an easy win against this very poor Aldosivi.
