Defensa y Justicia vs Atletico Tucuman
Defensa y Justicia returned to winning ways in league action last weekend, when they showed a great display of football to thrash Talleres 5-1 away. Having lost only one of their last eight games in the Copa Liga Profesional (five victories and two draws), El Halcon are back into the qualifying zone in group A, accumulating 17 points in nine rounds. On a sorry note, they have been irregular at home this term, grabbing five points from 12 available in this competition so far. On Tuesday 12, Defensa lost 1-0 at home Atletico Goianiense at home in a Copa Sudamericana group game.
Atletico Tucuman’s crisis is getting deeper and deeper. Last time out, they lost 2-1 to Gimnasia LP at home, which represented their fifth league game without a win (one draw and four losses since beating Patronato 1-0 at home in round four). Occupying the bottom spot in group A with five points (as well as Talleres), El Decano continue edging closer the relegation zone: in fact, they are only three points above Godoy Cruz, who occupy 27th spot in the respective table. As a result, coach Juan Manuel Azconzabal left the club. Even if Defensa might rest some players, they are definitely better than this terrible Atletico Tucuman and should beat them at home.
