Boca vs Huracan
Boca Juiniors were lucky to secure a scoreless away draw at Unon Santa Fe last Thursday: they couldn’t create any goalscoring chances and had to focus on defending for most of the time. El Xeneize continue producing a poor campaign in the Liga Profesional, accumulating 32 points after claiming a single victory across their last five games in this competition (along with two stalemates and two defeats). As a result, they remain out of the continental berths at the moment. On a positive note, Boca grabbed 13 points from the last 15 available at home in league action, winning four and drawing one in that spell.
Huracan new coach Diego Martinez had a disappointing debut at the club. Last Thursday, the team showed improvements, but they were ineffective up front and ended up losing 1-0 against Atletico Tucuman. That result extended their winless run to nine league games (three draws and six defeats), which means El Globo would lose their top-flight status if the season ended now as they remain on 19 points in 27th spot of the Liga Profesional table (only above Sarandi Arsenal who are currently getting relegated via the point-average rankings), five points behind the first safe place. On away turf, Huracan are without a win in the last 11 domestic games, having drawn three and lost eight.
As bad as Boca has been lately, I still can’t imagine that they won’t win at home against the worst team in league who are desperate for points and are looking forward to rebuild their squad as soon as the league is over.
