Velez Sarsfield fans will have felt gutted following the team’s 1-0 away defeat to San Lorenzo last Saturday, when they conceded in stoppage time in a hard-fought game. However, those two victories arrived in their last two home matches (over Barracas Central and Banfield, both 1-0).
Talleres showed enjoyable football to claim an important victory in their last league game, beating Godoy Cruz 3-1 at home last Sunday. That victory allowed them to put an end to their two-game losing streak in league action. La T are slightly improving a poor campaign in general terms, having accumulated 28 points in 23 games (one in hand), but they don’t have significant aims in the remaining league games this term.
In a match between two teams that play for nothing in the final rounds, I see Talleres arriving in better form and in a better mood. They come from a solid performance vs Godoy Cruz last Sunday and should be able to take something here.
