Velez vs Huracan

Velez Sarsfield’s four-match unbeaten run in the current Copa Liga Profesional (three successes and one draw) came to an end on Monday, when the side produced a poor performance and ended up losing 2-0 at Atletico Tucuman. However, Mauricio Pellegrino’s men remain as group B leaders on 19 points, three above second-placed Lanus. El Fortin managed nine of those points at home as a product of three victories and one loss. All regulars are available to host Huracan on Friday.

Huracan played their best game in the season last Monday, when they claimed an easy 3-0 home win over newly-promoted side Sarmiento. They are now on eight league games without defeat (two victories and six draws) to accumulate 12 points this term, which is good news on their struggle to improve their average for next season’s relegation fight, but also places them only one point behind Boca Juniors, the last team who are qualifying for the playoffs.

Velez might not be in top form but they can almost secure a playoff place with a win and they should be able to get it at home against this Huracan.
