Union vs Rosario Central
Union Santa Fe succumbed to their first Liga Profesional defeat last Sunday, when they lost 2-1 away at Racing Club despite having put up a good fight. El Tatengue are performing very well in this competition, accumulating 14 points so far and holding one of the Copa Sudamericana spots in the aggregate table as they had been unbeaten in the previous seven league matches (five victories and two draws). At home, Union are on three successes in a row since losing to Belgrano 2-1 in April. Captain Claudio Corvalan is suspended for Wednesday after seeing a red card at Racing Club. On the other hand, Nicolas Paz returns from his own ban.
Rosario Central weren’t able to stop the strength of league leaders Huracan last Saturday and ended up losing 1-0 at home. That result put an end to their five-match unbeaten streak of two victories and three stalemates. El Canalla remain on nine points in the Liga Profesional, a poor campaign that leaves them far away from the continental spots in the aggregate table. Furthermore, Central lost five of their last seven domestic matches as the visiting side, winning one and drawing one in that spell. Coach Miguel Russo has all his regulars at his disposal for Wednesday. The usual starters will return to league action, with the exceptions of Carlos Quintana and Ignacio Malcorra, who will rest.
Rosario Central with their starting attack back, and Union with the chance of jumping to the 2nd place with a win, makes a promising game so I’ll go with the OVER on this very short totals line as two goals are definitely possible here.
