Union vs River
Union Santa Fe managed their first victory in the Liga Profesional on Wednesday, when beating Barracas Central 2-1 away at All Boys with Jonathan Alvez and Emanuel Britez scoring. Gustavo Munua’s men broke their seven-match winless run of one draw and six defeats in the league to make it four points in this competition and approach the Copa Sudamericana places in the aggregate table. On a sorry note, El Tatengue are on three consecutive defeats at their own stadium in domestic action (all of them 2-1).
River Plate are yet to win in the Liga Profesional after their 1-0 away defeat at Colon last Wednesday, when the team produced a poor performance. Without even scoring in the first three games, El Millonario earned only two points in this competition so far. In fact, they are winless in the last four in league action, drawing two and losing two. However, the team remain occupying one of the Copa Libertadores’ spots in the aggregate table. Â
River couldn’t even score a goal in their first three games but the truth is that they’ve been quite unlucky. It’s time they break this bad run and against this Union that lost their last 3 home games 1-2 I expect them to be able to score and create an open game.
