Union vs Colon
Union Santa Fe fans will have felt disappointed last Monday, when the team ended up drawing 1-1 away at Barracas Central after wasting several goalscoring chances, especially in the second half. As a result, El Tatengue accumulated only two points in the first three matches of the season, extending their winless streak to seven league games (four draws and three defeats in that spell). At home, Union lost four of their last five matches, just beating Sarandi Arsenal 1-0 in that time.
Colon face this city derby in the middle of a worrying form. Last time out, the team showed a terrible performance and lost 2-0 to relegation candidates Sarmiento at home, which means Marcelo Saralegui’s men remain pointless after three rounds in the Liga Profesional, occupying the bottom spot of the league table, and the man in charge could be dismissed in the event of not winning on Sunday. To make matters worse, El Sabalero have been winless in their last six league matches, drawing one and losing five.
Big derby of the city of Santa Fe, and arguably the most important game of the season for both. Colon couldn’t have started any worse, they lost all 3 games, but Union isn’t much better as they are also winless. I expect a tight and very balanced game, so I’m going with the visitors to grab the first points of the season.
