Union – Racing

After their first victory of the season, Union Santa Fe registered a heartbreaking 1-1 away draw at Rosario Central as they took the first lead, wasted several chances and ended up conceding the equaliser with just three minutes to go. El Tatengue continue producing an irregular campaign, accumulating seven points in as many matches following a single win, four draws and two defeats. As a result, Gustavo Munua’s men are just three points above the bottom spot of the league table, occupied by Colon. At home, Union recorded one victory, one draw and one defeat in 2023.

Racing Club had to fight more than expected but finally celebrated an important 1-0 home success over Sarmiento last Sunday, with Matias Rojas netting the winner in the first half. La Academia made it 11 points in the Liga Profesional, trailing leaders San Lorenzo by five, having lost only one of the last five in this competition (along with three victories and one draw in that time). Racing secured only three points in as many matches on the road this term: they beat Sarandi Arsenal but lost to Argentinos Juniors and Godoy Cruz.

Two very irregular teams but Racing without their two central defenders due to injuries will very likely concede and they have enough attack power to score as well so I’m going with the over here.
