Tigre vs Estudiantes
Tigre are going through a difficult moment, deflating their performance game after game. On Monday, they suffered a 2-1 away defeat at Argentinos Juniors and made it six league games without a win, drawing three and losing three since beating Union Santa Fe in the opener. Having taken only six points in the Liga Profesional, the newcomers should improve soon to stay away from potential relegation threats. At home, El Matador haven’t won any of their last five matches (three stalemates and two losses in that time).
Estudiantes wasted a 2-0 lead last Sunday, when they ended up registering a 2-2 home draw against relegation candidates CA Central Cordoba. While advancing in the Copa Libertadores, El Pincha are now on four league games without a win (taking a single point from 12 on offer in that spell). As a result, they accumulated eight points in the Liga Profesional and remain occupying one of the Copa Sudamericana places in the aggregate table.
Both are far from the great form they had in the last tournament, but I still rate Estudiantes as the better team here and I think they should take something from this game.
