Tigre – Gimnasia
Tigre continue to improve in the context of a complicated season. Two weeks ago, the team secured a massive 2-0 away success at Huracan (who were league leaders beforehand) with Blas Armoa and Florian Monzon scoring. El Matador made it three Liga Profesional matches unbeaten (winning two and drawing one) to accumulate 16 points in this competition, which allows them to open a three-point gap over the relegation spot in the aggregate table, occupied by CA Central Cordoba. At home, Tigre lost only one of the last five, along with two victories and two stalemates.
Gimnasia LP are now enjoying their good moment of form. Two weeks ago, the team secured a massive 1-0 home success over Argentinos Juniors thanks to a penalty netted by Pablo De Blasis in the 90th minute. El Lobo extended their unbeaten streak to four league games, winning three and drawing one in that spell to make it 20 points in the Liga Profesional, which allows them to be just four points behind the last Copa Sudamericana berth in the aggregate table. Gimnasia won their last two away matches (at Racing Club and Belgrano, both 1-0).
Tigre looked improved lately and they just can’t relax because they are still in big danger of relegation through the aggregate table. They scored 7 goals in the last two games but also conceded in 5 of their last 7 and will face Gimnasia that has scored in their last 5 games so even though the visitors have not been conceding much lately, I expect Tigre to take risks and I’ll go with the OVER.
